Decaying bodies
Bodies could be found everywhere during WWI. They stayed were they died, no one had time to bury the dead during war. Living soldiers would have to see this horrible site everyday, the rotting, stinking bodies of their comrades. Not only was this a sad sight, but a disturbing one as well. A decaying body looks revolting, and seeing this everyday had a negative effect on their mood and mentality. Many dead bodies laid in no mans land; they were apart of a failed going 'over the top'. This horror of war had quite an impact on the soldiers, seeing such a disturbing sight everyday slowly wore down on their sense of humanity.
